S2020 humidifier - closed humidistat?

Is the normal? my s2020 humidifier has been heating and blowing and constantly filling for close to 30 minutes. the humidity level is set to 30% and it currently reads 29% humididty in the house. will the humididfier keep heating and blowing and filling until 30% is reached? its been approx. 15 minutes at 29%. is there something wrong here? the owners manuel says the humidistat is closed. Is this normal behavior for the system? Thanks

It is quite normal for a humidifier to run constantly for a few hours in order for it to increase and maintain the desired level of humidity in the house. Things that can increase the run time are large amounts of infiltration of dry outdoor air, a large amount of wood furnishings and flooring, and also square footage of the house exceeding the design area for the humidifier. These are just a couple of examples.
