Just had an Amana 2-stage HP and 2-stage propane furnace installed, both are ComfortNet compatible. The installer used a BMPlus 5000 to control 4 zones. (I have 4 zones at the moment, but 2 are in the basement (added by the installer) and could be collapsed to a single zone if the UT-3000 can't control more than 3 zones.)
In reading on your website, it looks like I might be able to take better advantage of all the ComfortNet bells and whistles if I had the UT-3000 instead.
What am I missing out on by not having that UT-3000?
Would it be worth my expense to have the installer come back and replace the BMPlus 5000 with a UT-3000 and replace my thermostats with communicating stats instead?
I hate to think that I've spent so much on getting a top-of-the-line HP and furnace, only to have it's capability hamstrung by zone board that isn't designed for the newest technology.
Amana ComfortNet - BMPlus 5000 or UT-3000?
Re: Amana ComfortNet - BMPlus 5000 or UT-3000?
The UT-3000 would give you the most functionality and best performance out of your particular hvac setup. The UT-3000 will give you heat cool or fan calls by a weighted value due to its proportional capabilities when using communicating thermostats. The UT-3000 also has a scrolling LCD screen allowing you to visually monitor all of your systems functions. However to replace the Bmplus-5000 and with the new UT-3000, purchasing communicating thermostats, and reducing the basement to a single zone can prove to be costly.
