S2000 steam humidifier red LEDs come on intermittently

I have had the S2000 for several years now, and this year it has decided to run for anywhere between a few minutes and a day or two, then usually both red LEDs come on until I power cycle it. Sometimes lately only the top (thermistor) LED comes on. I understand that both LEDs mean no heater, as detected either by no call for water for 45-50 minutes, or no heat at all.

I have cleaned the unit, replaced the heating element, cleaned the water level sensor, and can see that it normally fills to the correct level and heats and runs the fan, etc. with no problem. I noticed that the connectors on the heater relay were burned, so figured the relay may be burned inside, so replaced that.

It still acts the same. Now the thermistor LED seems to be coming on more often, so I guess that's the next part I should try, before I break down and order a whole new circuit board.

Any other suggestions?
