MA-ND4 Adjustment

Post by achipoletti »

I have a single family home with two zones that are controlled by two thermostats and three MA-ND4s.

I normally keep Zone 2 turned off (Upper level) - controlled by one thermostat and one MA-ND4.

Zone 1 contains 17 supply registers - I'll call them Zone 1A and Zone 1B...
One thermostat and two MA-ND4s.

Zone 1A is the main section of the house - which I can never seem to keep warm in the winter.
This is a large open area with a vaulted ceiling. Also two bedrooms, a laundry room and a bath.
Also controls registers in a finished basement.
This zone has 12 supply registers total - 9 main level / 3 basement.

Since Zone 1B only has 5 supply registers, I was wondering if adjusting the MA-ND4 that controls it to a minimum open setting would make any difference.

Just to make sure I understand what you are asking here...
You would like to make the zone 1B area not open 100% in an effort to force more air to zone 1A when they are both calling?
If that is the case then you can definitely give that a try.
The position setting you will want to adjust will be the one with the "O" next to it.
If you have any questions regarding this please let me know.

Thanks Patrick...

I also need to make some adjustments to get rid of a whistling sound when only my loft system is activated.
I have a bypass damper installed that returns excess air to my return duct.

But my main dampers must have a gap between the damper and the duct - so I neeed to find a way to close the gap.
