Using S2020 Humidifier for NEST

Post by vacquah »

I recently had the EWC S2020 Humidifier installed. I control it using a Honeywell VisonPro thermostat. It also has an outside temperature probe which helps to control the humidifier settings.

I am contemplating the new NEST Thermostat - with a built in humidifier control ( just launched today). I am looking to verify if the Nest thermostat will work with the S2020 - Not sure what the wiring should be. Secondly, the Nest thermostat uses a internet connection to pull outside temperature data, so not sure how that will work with the s2020. Any advice will be appreciated.

Yes, I too am considering buying a couple of NEST thermostats for my Townhouse. Do you have a recommendation on how they should be setup for optimal usage?

The nest thermostat can be used with the S2000 and S2020 model Steam Humidifiers.
You need to install a Single Pole Double Throw relay in order to control humidification with the NEST thermostat.
EWC model number R1 is a suitable relay for this application.
Below is a link to the nest page where it is depicted how to use this relay correctly.

Anyone know how to wire the s2020 to a nest thermostat properly. All works well with the humidifier and the nest except I cannot get the nest to turn on just the fan alone.
