Recently, I had purchased a townhome with ncm 300. It is working fine until A/C motor was replaced.
Since then only one section (top floor) of the house is getting cool air. Kitchen area zone is not getting any cool air.
I am hoping that one simple change might fix the issue.
Your help will be very much appreciated.
Thanks

ncm 300 issue
Re: ncm 300 issue
PM,
Do you know where the zone dampers are located in the duct-work?
If you are not getting airflow to one particular zone, the first thing we would want to check would be the dampers themselves to ensure they are opening properly.
Depending on the model damper you have you might have a green and red indicator light on the motor itself.
Red will indicate closed and green will indicate open.
These are useful tools in trying to determine the position of the damper.
Please get back to me on whether or not you can locate the dampers and if the one that supplies the kitchen area has a red or green LED.

Thank for providing information on the phone.
Now, when the AC unit is ON I notice red indicator light on the motor attached to the rectangular duct towards kitchen area. What do you suggest I do now.
Also, can the two thermostats be set to two different temperatures? AC repair person said that both
the thermostats should be set to the same temp. I think it is wrong but wanted to confirm with you.
I will try to see if I can fix the issue with your help if not then I will call a technician.
Thanks

Re: ncm 300 issue
The red indicator on the damper motor indicates the damper is in the closed position.
That motor should have terminals designated with M1, M4, and M6. or C, PO, and PC.
Can you tell me what color wires are attached to each of these terminals?
On the left-hand side of the zone panel you will see the Zone Motor terminal blocks where the motors connect to the panel.
The Terminals will be labeled as M1, M4 and M6.
Find the zone that corresponds to the kitchen area, either zone one or zone two.
What color wires are on each of the terminals M1 M4 and M6?
That is not necessarily correct that bot thermostats should be set to the same temperature.
By virtue of having a "zone system" you should be able to set either of the zones to any temperature you like.
