Hi all,
This past weekend i went to fire up my central AC system and got nothing. I have a forced air system, oil fired with an outside condenser. Checked unit itself and it runs fine when the contactor is pressed in. Confirmed no 24V at the unit. I have a 300 L panel 3 zone and started checking voltages.
I have 24V at each of the thermostat locations when calling for AC at each zone.
I have 24V at the transformer on the panel. It is a dedicated transformer for the panel itself.
Heating works fine and I get 24 volts between white and common at the system side when heating is on.
When i switch to AC i get no 24V between system yellow and common.
The dampers are all working correctly when the AC is activated.
I get both the compressor and fan lights on the panel when AC is activated.
A little background. I had my furnace replaced last November. They reused the existing EWC panel and installed 3 new EWC dampers. The contractor
mounted the panel directly to the back of the furnace. This surface gets pretty warm with the heat is running. I know you are not supposed to do that. Is it possible that the heat and vibration may have fried the panel? I don't know what else to check.
