BMPlus 3000

Post by Twinster »

Hello,

I am a DIYer troubleshooting why the thermostat are not triggering the heat cycle.

I have verified the furnace to operate as expected and to trigger the heat cycle when I jump R to W on the furnace PCB.

I have two thermostats, Ecobee 4 for Zone 1, and Emerson 1F78 for zone 2 connected to the Control Zone system. When I checked for 24VAC on the Zone1 and 2 T'Stat, I am seeing ~24 VAC on R-Y, R-G, but 0 VAC on R-W (This is with both thermostats set at Auto on Fan and calling for heat).

First of all, should I be seeing 24VAC on R-W on the T'stat? If so, any ideas on what I need to look at to troubleshoot?

Thank you.

"R" is a constant 24 volts you should be taking voltage from C to W or C to G. Not R to W

Steven,

Thank you for the prompt response and information on the phone call. I have had the 24VAC on C to W verified to be 24 volts.

It's likely that the BMPlus 3000 is faulty and needs to be replaced. While I wait on the replacement to be arrived, can you please provide instructions on how to bypass the BMPlus 3000. My first guess was to directly wire the thermostat to the PCB, but I am not certain if that the safest or even an option as it might hinder the damper operation.

Appreciate your help.
