NCM300 and Nest thermostats question

I recently purchased the NCM300 to replace my old ewc board which did not support wi-fi thermostats.
My question is, I have 3 damper zones and only 2 our of 3 nest thermostats. On my old board, I have a regular Heat/off/cool thermostat set on Zone 1 and the nest thermostats on zone 2 & 3. When I switch to the new NCM300, does zone 1 have to be a nest thermostat or can I keep the thermostats set up as they are?

You can leave Zone 1 stat alone you dont need to swap it out.
