I know very little about this stuff, so please bare with me. Recently moved into our first house with ultra zone control panel in attic. The house has two zones, one in florida room and another for rest of house. During the winter, I heat most of house with oil and since florida room has no baseboard heat I use hvac unit. I shut the system's thermostat off in house and turn the one in florida room to heat. This works fine, however we still get air blowing through the vents in our house even though the thermostat is turned off (turns on every 25-30 mins or so and runs for about 2 mins then shuts off). Why is this?
Thanks
Tom
Zone control issue
Re: Zone control issue
Do you have a damper installed for the house portion of the ductwork? Most likely, the installer purposely left the main part of the house without a damper because the Florida room is much smaller than the rest of the house.
