does all the t'stats need to be the same or can one be different?

the zoning controls panel box if my customer has 3 t'stat 2 of them are the same and one is different does the 3rd one have to match the other 2 to work properly

They all need to be the same type (i.e. Heatpump type or Heat/Cool type), they do not need to be the same brand or model.

You can use an EWC thermostat on Zone 1, a Honeywell on Zone 2 and a White-Rodgers on Zone 3 as long as they are all heatpump type or all Heat/cool type.
