I apologize if this question has already been asked elsewhere, but I couldn't find it on the forum.
I have a BMPlus3000 unit controlling 2 zones with 2-stage heat and 1-stage cool (I think). Right now both of my thermostats are wired with 4 wires (no common).
I've been poking around and the Nest support site says that for a multi-zone system using a microcontroller based zone control board, it typically needs a common wire. Does anyone have experience with a similar configuration? Do I need to wire up a common or will the BMPlus let it suck enough power without it?
Thanks!
Nest Thermostat w/ BMPlus3000
Re: Nest Thermostat w/ BMPlus3000
To the best of my knowledge you will need a Common wire to make that NEST thermostat work correctly.
I do not believe that it runs from a battery and due to the type of components built into that thermostat I would have to assume it requires 24V.
