I have a EWC-ST-2D control panel with the old style rectangular dampers, 1 per zone for a total of two. They have blue covers and a control arm which moves the internals of the damper, not spring loaded. Voltage is good from the dampers and panel. While calling, the furnace ignites and the blower kicks on as well as for cooling just without the burner. However, zone 2 damper will not open, only close (i manually open). The zone 1 damper was working but now stays open all the time, regardless of the thermostat call. If I move it to close it will keep going to open. Both damper switches are in the open position on the panel.
Is there a relay on the board that only controls the dampers? Or could it be the contacts within the damper motor assy? Zone 1 will go to open if manually closed; and zone 2 will close but not open. So the motors must work? There is no binding within the damper assy's. What is the name part number for the old, blue cover, rectangular dampers? Any suggestions on where to start? Replaced transformer already (just in case).
EWC-ST-2D Damper Issues
Re: EWC-ST-2D Damper Issues
Sir,
If you have confirmed that you have the correct voltage at the motor than more than likely your damper motors have failed. The direct replacement for that motor is the MRK (motor replacement kit). If you should have any further problems let us know and we will be glad to help you out.
