BM PLUS 3000 Problem?

Post by ami-sven »

Hello.
I have a electric heat (heat pump plus emergency heat) system conrolled by a BMPLUS3000 control board which controls 2 Zones.

I am running currently entirely on Emergency heat because it is very cold here in Dallas. I set the T stats on E- Heat. The problem I am having is that when both zones are calling for heat, only Zone 1 dampener is LED is lid. I cannot get the Zone 2 dampener LED to come on. I verified that I have my 24volt on input from both T-stats on the Board. Resetting with the rest button does not help.

Any Ideas?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Sven

across what terminals exactly on Zone 1 and Zone 2 did you confirm voltage? What other lights are lit on the board at this time and how are your dip switches set?

Dip switches are set:

1 - left (HP)
2 - right (CONV)
3 - right (HP)
4 - left (O)
5 - (timer)
6 - left (OFF)
7 - left (OFF)
8 - left (GAS)

LED lit are: LED 1 Blinking, LED 6, LED 7, LED 10 and 11.
I measured Between "C" and and the white wire for AUX heat on both Zones, Zone 1 "W/E", and Zone 2 "O/B".
Yesterday If zone 1 is satisfied and not running Zone 2 LED is lit but no heat, even so the fan is running and air is coming out of vents, but cold only. If Zone one runs it is heating just fine, but only Zone one.

I don't understand why if both t-stats are calling for heat but only LED 6 for Zone 1 is lid and not both (LED 5 & 6)

Thanks.

Your auxiliary heat wire from the thermostat should be on the 'W/E' terminal on all zones. The 'O/B' terminal is for the reversing valve wire from the thermostat.

Sven,

You said you have a 24 volt signal at the board for the dampers, what is the voltage reading at the motor its self?
