Trane Xv95 EWC BMplus 3000 Zone 2 Not sending heat

Post by Rmarrero »

Can someone help me troubleshoot the issue I have?

I have a Trane XV95 HVAC system with EWC BMplus 300 rev B control unit. I have ADT for my thermostats and 2 zones, 1st floor and 2nd floor.

For 2 days now zone 2 isn’t sending heat upstairs. I remotely control my ADT 2nd floor thermostat and set to 75 degrees. I see the dampers open in my basement but Trane never fires up. Zone 1 works fine.

Is this a EWC control problem or something in the Trane? I put new batteries also in my Thermostats. I also inspected the EWC controller but don’t see anything like a broken wire or any issues with LEDs

Anyone know what the issue is or the steps how this is supposed to work? Thermostat sends signal to EWC then EWC sends signal to dampers and the Trane system??

I purchased a new EWC BMplus 3000 controller board.

Thanks
Rob

It sounds like your EWC controller might not be sending the signal properly to the Trane system. I had a similar issue with my setup where Zone 2 wouldn't heat, and it turned out to be a loose connection in the wiring to the controller. You should double-check all the connections, especially around the BMplus 300 board. Also, make sure the dampers are actually opening and not getting stuck. I also found that sometimes manually triggering the heat from the control unit helps reset things. If that doesn’t work, swapping out the controller might be the next step, but I’d rule out wiring issues first before going that route.
