First I want to give you some background information. I have a two ecobee3 thermostats for both of the zones in my home as well as a BMPlus3000 that is approximately 2 years old. The system is a forced hot air/AC system. I have the system configured for the ecobees to control when to use the heat pump or Aux heat as they can easily get the outside temperature. For my Aux heat, I have propane. My dip switches are configured as the following, HP, DF, HP, B, Timer, OFF, OFF and GAS.
My system is set to use aux heat (propane) when its below 40 degrees outside but when we lose power or a power cycle occurs on the board, my thermostats will call for aux heat, the blower fan will run but the furnace wont start, therefore I get no heat. In order for the heating to work correctly, I have to force the heat pump to come on for a bit, even if its 10 degrees outside, then set the system back to normal. I noticed that I have to do that on both zones. Im not sure if its a EWC or Ecobee issue.
System doesnt use Aux Heat after power cycle/Power Outage
