can zwave/smart thermostat work with my current EWC ST 2D zone board

I'm trying to replace current tstats with newer smart ones and would like to know if my current zone board will work. I'd rather not have to go through the cost of getting a new zone board installed if possible. Can you help with any recommendations for compatible tstats and how to best communicate my info to you. My guess is viewing my current zone board wiring and tstats wiring would be a good start? Please let me know how to proceed. Thank you.
