Honeywell RTH8580WF1007-W and BMPlus3000

Post by barnesed »

Installing two Honeywell RTH8580WF1007-W thermostats for a 2-zone system that has a heat pump with oil furnace backup (oil furnace provides hot water coil to air handler). The existing thermostats (2 different models) are wired to a zone panel (EWC Controls Model BMPlus 3000).
*
Existing Zone 1 thermostat was wired as follows (Zone Box Terminal > Wire Color > Exist. Thermostat Terminal): C > Blue > C, W1 > White > W1, Y > Yellow > Y, R > Red > R, G > Green > G, EM > Pink > L. The exist. thermostat does not have wires on terminals B & O, but has a jumper between terminals W1 & E.
*
I had wired the Honeywell RTH8500 as follows (Zone Box Terminal > Wire Color > NEW Thermostat Terminal): C > Blue > C, W1 > White > O/B, Y > Yellow > Y, R > Red > R, G > Green > G, EM > Pink > L. The new thermostat does not have wires on terminals E/Aux & K, but has the jumper between terminals R & RC.
*
I believe there should be a wire on the new thermostat terminal E/Aux. Should the current EM > Pink > L be changed to EM > Pink > E/Aux?
*
What about the jumper on the exist. thermostat between terminals W1 & E? How do I address this on the new thermostat, if at all?

Existing Zone 2 thermostat was wired as follows (Zone Box Terminal > Wire Color > Exist. Thermostat Terminal): C > Blue > C, W > White > W, Y > Yellow > Y, R > Red > R, G > Green > G. The exist. thermostat does not have wires on terminals B & O, but has a jumper between terminals RH & RC.

I do not have any questions on the Zone 2 thermostat.
