Honeywell RT6580WF Wi-Fi Thermostat

Post by whoppmeyer »

I have a EWC-ST-3D control panel and want to install this Honeywell WiFi thermostat but it does not have the O and B terminals. Is there a way to jump these connections to make it work with both heating and cooling? If not what is the replacement panel that allows for an additional zone? I have four zones in the house.

You can install jumpers, but you would have to remove the cooling jumper in the fall and install the heating one and vice versa in the spring every year. It woulld be better to install a master selector switch (EWC part # MCX-DXB) or upgrade your panel to the BMPlus 5000.

Erik thanks. Where do the jumpers go and will it impact the other zones?
Thanks

The jumpers would go from R1 to O for cooling and from R1 to B for heating. They can never be installed at the same time. It would be much easier to install the switch or upgrade the panel.

Erik, Thanks I did order it but want to replace the thermostat in the meantime. Just so I'm clear though, the thermostat only has the following slots: K, Y2, W2, G, W, C, R, R, & Rc. Assume you mean the B heating wire will go in one of the R or Rc slot with a jumper. Is that what you mean?

For now to get heat you need to put a jumper in from r1 to b on the panel not in the thermostat.
