I have the EWC-ST-3C Zone control panel with 3 Zones, forced air/furnace and A/C...single stage. I know the topic has come up alot and I understand the separate O and B terminal for the master thermostat so...my question is will Radio Thermostats CT-22, CT-30, or CT-80 work for all 3 of my zones? These stats do have the separate O and B terminal. Also can I wire my zone 2 and 3 stats with a C wire because i have enough wires at the stats to do so (I would like zone 2 and 3 operating with 24v not battery)
This is Radio's wire reference chart in regards to B and O terminals...I'm thinking i can't use these stats for my master thermostat but can for zone 2 and 3...Not sure though???
B Heat pump changeover (cool to heat, powered in heat)
O Heat pump changeover (heat to cool, powered in cool)
B and O
IMPORTANT: If there are both B and O wires (Trane pump
products) DO NOT CONNECT B to B terminal, connect B to C
terminal. If not a Trane product tape off B.
In a different thread labeled--- Wifi Thermostats with EWC-ST-2E....Erik W. responded saying the Radio Ct-30 stat would work. So will this work or not? I am not convinced yet by all the research i have done but am now leaning towards the thought of the Radio stats working in all 3 zones on my system...Someone has to know and if it won't work then why? Separate O and B terminals are just that, right?

Re: Radio Stats for my EWC-ST control panel
The radio Thermostats will work for your st panel. Disregard what you have read about Trane equipment because you are not hooking the o and b wires to the system, you are hooking them up to the zone panel in zone 1 to achieve your changeover between heat and cool. Applying 24 volts on O will put all three thermostats in the cooling mode and applying 24 volts on b will allow all three thermostats to work in the heating mode. You will not be hooking up an O or B wire to your actual equipment. The only place you need an O and B wire is the zone 1 thermostat terminal block on the lower right hand side of the zone panel.

Re: Radio Stats for my EWC-ST control panel
Thank you Erik...I did talk to a tech support guy from EWC this morning too. As far as the EWC-ST control panels go, I have found probably 15 or so thermostats that will work for the master thermostat with this system. It really threw me off reading that only a select 4 or so stats would work because to me, a separate O and B terminal are just that...basically a switch leg back to the board for a 24v call which in turn would then go from the board to my equipment...O for cool and B for heat. I know a lot of people have wanted to change out old mercury stats on their EWC-ST system and alot of people have settled for the select 4 mentioned in another thread on this forum, but in reality there is a lot of other options out there if you can find a separate O and B terminal on a specific stat. I chose these Radio stats due to cost, wifi module included in the cost, 7 day programmable, and a non touch screen because to me touch screen is just another thing to go out and not work eventually

Re: Radio Stats for my EWC-ST control panel
Erick,
Why could you not connect the O wire along with the Y wire in the terminal on the thermostat and the B wire along with the W wire in the terminal.

Re: Radio Stats for my EWC-ST control panel
That would only energize b or o when the master thermostat was calling, so that would mean that you could only get heating and cooling out of your slave zones if the master was calling otherwise the slave thermostats would be dead.

Re: Radio Stats for my EWC-ST control panel
We have a brand new system, installed this past May. Turned the heat on for the first time today and all it does is blow cold air. Any clue what I could try to fix it? Thank you.
Re: Radio Stats for my EWC-ST control panel
This kind of issue is not something that can be easily solved through the forum, there could be many different problems causing your heat to not work. It would be much easier if we discussed this over the phone rather than the the forum. I have listed my contact information below please give me a call at your earliest convenience to discuss this matter.
