I have (3) dampers that are labeled URD-12. They are in the attic, and something must have fallen on one of them or something, because the 2 wires from the motor to the CLOSE portion of the circuit board have been pulled loose.
I can resolder them to the board, if I can get the motor housing disconnected from the damper shaft. I took the brass colored top off of the motor, and spun the top of the motor, and the damper is moving freely.
1. Is there a way to disconnect the motor/circuit board assembly from the damper shaft from the outside? I really would prefer not to disassemble the duct work to get at it, if at all possible.
2. Are there replacement motor assemblies available for this unit. (it is about 7-8 years old)
3. Are there any publications to instruct how to test the motor to see if it is operating?
Many Thanks,
Rick
Motor failure on URD-12
Re: Motor failure on URD-12
Rick,
You need a Model MRK (Motor Replacement Kit), it will come with step by step instructions on removing the old motor and replacing it with the new one.
