UT-3000 with bypass humidifier

Post by meassick »

We have a system with a UT-3000 ver 1.17 two CTK-04 thermostats and a comfortnet furnace and heat pump. We also have a bypass humidifier hooked up to the IAQ terminals. The system fan is set to run continuously for air filtering purposes. Anytime there is a call for humidification the humidifier runs, even if there is no call for heat - this wastes a lot of water since water is flowing through the humidifier even when there is no call for heat in which case there is very little evaporation of water. We would like to have the humidifier run only if there is a call for humidification and a call for heat. Is there any way of accomplishing this?

meassick,

Sorry for the late response. We have had extremely high tech call volume and have not paid sufficient attention to the forum.

Sir, it appears that someone has programmed one or both CTK04's to "humidify" without heat!....This is a function in the "Installer Menu" of each CTK04 thermostat. In order to enter the Installer Menu, you will need the thermostat password, which is the 4 digit date code. This date code password can be found in the 'Equipment Status" folder. Change the Humidify function to "Humidify with Heat" and your problem will go away.
