I figured it out. When I got my other zone set to cool, the Y1 light came on. I think the connection on the yellow wire to the thermostat was poor. Re-wired it and everything works.

Y1 Compressor light not coming on (New Bmplus-3z)
New install of bmplus-3z to replace an old BM2000 that malfunctioned. Disconnected the BM2000 and reconnected wires to the new bmplus-3z. Thermostat in Zone 1 calls for heat and everything works as it should. But when it calls for air, the fan runs but compressor does not. I suspect problem is at ...
