Hi All,
I moved into this old house in May. There are two heating/cooling zones. The dampers are controlled by the Ultrazone system and EWC Ma-ND5 motors. In summer, I noticed that there were 8 degrees of difference between the two zones, and one zone seems always working. Today, after the heating was turned on, I noticed that one zone had strong air flow while the other had almost none.
Eventually I decided to look into this damper control. First thing I notice is that open and close positions were marked by someone in opposite way in two controls. That is, in one control, postion 0 is marked as open, while in the other control, position 1 is marked as open. When I activated one zone for heating while leaving the other zone idle, both motors turned in the same direction. So if the marking is correct, then one damper is open, and the other is close. The problem is, the zone that I wanted to activate still had no air flow, while the other zone was blowing air. The zone that has no heating air flow is the zone that had plenty of cooling air flow in summer.
This is very confusing. I hope to be abel to find operational manual for Ultra-Zone and EWC MA-ND5. So I know what is normal. I also appreciate any suggestions you can provide.
Thank you in adavnce!
Help - do my damper controls function correctly?
